Your local team
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) plays a vital role in tackling many of the local issues that matter to you. They are out in your area every day, and always available to offer crime prevention advice or for you to raise concerns with.
Each NPT consists of a dedicated Sergeant, Police Constables (PCs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), all under the command of an Inspector. While they may be the ones you see the most, the NPTs do not work alone. They are supported by staff and officers from across the whole Humberside Police force area, and they work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide the local policing priorities for the area and find useful, long-term solutions.

Drone Fly overs and drug package throw-ins at HMP Hull
Action taken:
Humberside Police has been receiving increased reports of packages being thrown over the walls of HMP Hull as well as reports of drones being used to fly over the prison and drop packages. This was recently highlighted in a video posted by Humberside Police whereby a male was seen to throw a package over the walls after several failed attempts.
Humberside Police will be working with HM prison service on joint operations to tackle persons attempting to convey items into the prison through prison visits. This will include visitors being subject to drugs swabs.
Hull City Council will also be undertaking work to cut back foliage around the woodlands to the rear of the prison. This area, known as The Lozenge, is part of the cycle track that runs behind Rosmead Playing Fields and Westerdale Grove. This area has been highlighted as the area where individuals are attempting to throw over packages containing drugs, phones, and other banned items. We also believe that drones are being flown from this area to drop off packages into the prison.
By cutting back the foliage in the area, this will make the woodlands more open and visible, deterring individuals from using this area for criminal purposes. Humberside Police has conducted patrols of this area and have identified that there is evidence of the woodlands being used for public sex sites, drug use, arson and criminal damage, large amounts of littering, and homelessness. We aim to tackle this by making the area less covered and more visible as well as with foot patrols.

Halloween & Bonfire Nigth

Halloween and Bonfire Night are almost here!
Humberside Police will be launching Op Topaz once again during which time we will be attending local shops to ensure that fireworks sales are taking place within the law with appropriate checks being carried out.
We will also be asking local stores to not sell flour and eggs to under 18s to prevent these being thrown at vehicles and individuals.
Finally, local NPT officers will be deployed on mobile patrol on Halloween, Mischief Night, and Bonfire Night to ensure everybody is enjoying this season safely.

Vehicle Related ASB
Action taken:
We continue to receive reports numerous times a week regarding off road motorcycles riding dangerously on/off road. These individuals often decide not to wear helmets increasing the risk to themselves and others. This is an issue that directly impacts our communities and causes understandable concern.
In reality this is not a quick problem to fix. Every encounter with riders driving in such a dangerous style must be risk assessed, it is not as simple as some may believe of just chasing these individuals until we either catch them or they crash. That is not the way that we as a Police Force operate as it puts undue risk on members of the public. We do however use all available avenues to identify rider of such bikes using CCTV, Dashcam footage, and other options to prosecute and progress.
We will continue to work alongside our dedicated OP YELLOWFIN team to tackle this behaviour. As a Neighbourhood Team our ask would be to continue to report these incidents to us. Whilst we do appreciate people may think this doesnt result in action every bit of intelligence we receive allows us to build a bigger overall picture. When reporting these issues please try to note any distinguishing marks on vehicles such as a particular colour of trim etc as this again allows local officers to spot these vehicles whilst out and associate them with the ASB.

Drug Dealing / Taking

As a force we take drug offences seriously as we know that drug addiction ruins lives and feeds into other types of criminality. By tackling drugs at the source we can reduce the overall impact on the community and reduce the demand on your local Police, freeing officers up to deal with the issues you want us to tackle such as burglaries, anti-social behaviour, and violence.
Your local NPT depends on information and intelligence from you, the public, to be able to identify persons, vehicles and addresses where drugs are being used, grown and sold.
Sometimes when information is given to the Police regarding drug issues it can feel like nothing gets done and like the Police don't care but that couldn't be further from the truth. We rely on information from multiple different sources to be able to develop the intelligence picture which we can then present to a Magistrate to obtain a search warrant. All of the information you give to us is anonymous and helps us build that picture towards obtaining that warrant.
We have identified Newbridge Road and adjacent streets as an area with a particularly high amount of drug dealing occurring. This is also affecting Newbridges Inpatient Mental Health Unit who we are working with closely to stop the spread of drugs into the ward.
