Where do you work as a Special Constable?: North East Lincolnshire Grimsby
When did you join as a Special Constable?: I joined in January 2019
What do you do for a living outside the Special Constabulary?: am a Fire and Safety Officer working at a local Oil Refinery in Nth East Lincolnshire. I’ve always wanted to experience life as a Police Officer having had family members serve as regular police Officers within the Force. In my spare time I enjoy all manner of water sports, especially Kite Surfing. I am a motorcyclist and hold a Private Pilot’s license. I am also keen road cyclist and have completed the John O'Groats to Land's End ride, over a 1000 miles in 10 days.
Why did you join as a Special Constable?: I joined the Special Constabulary in January 2019 and presently work from Grimsby Police Station. There is a tremendous camaraderie within the team, and I find the work challenging, exciting and rewarding.
What types of duty you typically get involved in?: I normally work an evening shift on Response, turning out to a wide variety of incidents and provide support for the Night Time Economy and Community policing Teams.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of joining?: Joining the Special Constabulary has opened up opportunities for me to develop personally and professionally and make a positive difference in my community, reducing crimes and making people safer.
