Transferees and Re-joiners

Within Humberside Police, we have a strong family spirit between our Police Staff, Police Officers and Special Constables, which is paramount to deliver a great service to the public we serve. We value the contribution of all our Special Constables and the difference that they make both to the communities and Humberside Police.

We are now welcoming applications from:

• any Special Constable who is currently serving within another force, but who wishes to transfer to us.
• any former Humberside Police Special Constable who wishes to rejoin us.

You will already be familiar with the duties of a Special Constables who work to make our communities safer by:

• Assisting the force with many aspects of policing, from high-visibility patrols to traffic operations, counterterrorism and community safety.
• Supporting victims by detecting and investigating crime.
• Working with colleagues to bring those responsible for crime to justice, from arrest through to conviction.
• Assisting at the scene of accidents, fights or fires.
• Enforcing road safety initiatives.
• Conducting house-to-house enquiries.
• Providing security at major events.
• Tackling anti-social and alcohol related incidents.
• Humberside Spending time at local schools, educating young people about crime reduction and community safety.

Police also offer Specials the opportunity to get involved in our specialist units, including Marine and Ports, Roads Policing and Rural Crime.
