Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) plays a vital role in tackling many of the local issues that matter to you. They are out in your area every day, and always available to offer crime prevention advice or for you to raise concerns with.
Each NPT consists of a dedicated Sergeant, Police Constables (PCs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), all under the command of an Inspector. While they may be the ones you see the most, the NPTs do not work alone. They are supported by staff and officers from across the whole Humberside Police force area, and they work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide the local policing priorities for the area and find useful, long-term solutions.
Our approach is shaped by four key themes: We protect vulnerable people and keep people safe; We are out in your communities, visible, listening and working with you to deliver the services you need; We successfully tackle crime and ASB; We will be there when you need us.

Barton Youth Club
Issued 11 December 2024
The new Barton Youth Club continues to be a success.
Where - The Hub, Maltby Lane, Barton
When - Friday, 5:00pm x 7:00pm
Who - Youths aged between 11 and 15-years
So far the Youth Club has been very successful, attracting between ten and fifteen youths each week. Most youths choose play a variety of ball games in the sports hall, whilst others sit and draw, or play board games. We hope that in coming weeks, Wi-Fi and Gaming will also be available.
The sessions are FREE but with limited places, so if your child would like to attend, consent forms are available from the Barton Town Council offices, Baysgarth School, or at Barton Police Station.
The sessions are supervised by Council Youth Workers, but the Barton Neighbourhood Policing team also visit most weeks to offer support.

Youths kicking doors in Barton.
Issued 11 December 2024
It’s that time of year again when we’re starting to see reports of youths kicking residents doors in Barton.
This is more than ‘knock-a-door-run’ where youths as young at 11-years are vigorously kicking doors, often causing damage. The occupants can be elderly and this behaviour leaves them fearing for their safety. We’re currently working to identify a cohort of youths responsible for several recent occurrences near St Mary’s Church, by reviewing CCTV, speaking to witnesses, and if necessary liaising with local schools to identify the youths. Anyone identified will be investigated for Harassment and Public Order offences.
The Barton Neighbourhood Policing Team would urge anyone who’s a victim of this to report on 101, or online using the Humberside Police Website.
This is despicable behaviour by a minority of youths, who perhaps don’t realise the emotional impact this has on people in their community. Humberside Police will not tolerate this and proportionate action will be taken.
