Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) plays a vital role in tackling many of the local issues that matter to you. They are out in your area every day, and always available to offer crime prevention advice or for you to raise concerns with.
Each NPT consists of a dedicated Sergeant, Police Constables (PCs) and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), all under the command of an Inspector. While they may be the ones you see the most, the NPTs do not work alone. They are supported by staff and officers from across the whole Humberside Police force area, and they work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide the local policing priorities for the area and find useful, long-term solutions.
Our approach is shaped by four key themes: We protect vulnerable people and keep people safe; We are out in your communities, visible, listening and working with you to deliver the services you need; We successfully tackle crime and ASB; We will be there when you need us.
Tackling Anti Social Behaviour (ASB)
Issued 02 October 2026
There has been a noted increase in ASB in the south eastern area of Howdenshire.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out patrols in these areas to be a visible presence in the villages.
Should any ASB be identified, positive action will be taken in the form of the Fairway process through the East Riding of Yorkshire Council ASB team or other appropriate referrals should any criminal offences be identified.
At the moment, we are not at the stage of requiring any Problem Solving packages for any specific areas. We hope that through active patrols and engagement with local young people, we can prevent any escalation of ASB.
Presentations in schools have already taken place and local PCSO's are attending local youth groups as a form of positive engagement.
If you experience or witness any ASB in your local area, please report this via 101 or online at www.humberside.police.uk

Road Safety and Casualty Reduction issues continue to be a consistent priority within the Howdenshire area.
Issued 01 October 2026
Road Safety and Casualty Reduction issues continue to be a consistent priority within the Howdenshire area. This is including but not exclusive to speeding, contravention of weight restrictions and illegal use of electric motorcycles and electric scooters.
Community Speed Watch and the NPT are working in partnership to deal with speeding and improve road safety.
All Neighbourhood Officers have had training or refresher training for the Pro Laser Speed Enforcement and regular targeted school patrols within the Ward area are completed by PCSOs.
Areas of concern have been raised by communities, of which Neighbourhood Beat Officers are and will be attending to carry out speed enforcement as and when demand allows.
You can report certain road traffic offences via Operation Snap on the Humberside Police website by following the link below:
