Crimes and priorities

  • Our priorities
  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

We have seen an increase in calls for service surrounding rural crime, mainly poaching within the Holderness area. Most recent calls have been from residents in the Sunk Island area reporting poaching. Permission has been granted for kennels, housing hunting beagles, to be built and used in Arnold. Hunts will begin to place starting at Arnold Grange. Currently unknown when the kennels will be built. This has already gained traction from Hull Wildlife Protectors, so disruption to organised events is anticipated.

    Issued 03 May 2025

    Action taken:

To work with RTF to recognise and minimise any risks to animals and the public. This is including working with farm watch and other agencies for information sharing purposes.

To continue with Op Galileo to build a picture of the offenders and crime patterns in our area. As well as to stop check any offenders or possible offenders, and deal with as necessary.

    Actioned 03 May 2025

  • Priority:

Since the introduction of Op Snap the NPT have been made aware of more incidents related to parking in the area. This has also been brought up from Preston Parish Council meeting as there is an on-going issue with parking in the area.

Over the past 2 months there has been an increase in fatalities on our roads, with 3 in Mid and Southwest Holderness. Focus will be put onto our roads with more visibility patrol and our special constables heading a project in the area.

    Issued 03 May 2025

    Action taken:

Plans are currently being discussed between Hedon Special Constables, the local community, and supervisors in order to establish a project specifically targeting speeding in the area.

Special constables have been tasked to investigate the issues with parking in Preston. NPT and specials will act positively to tackle the issue with the local community.

To promote Op Snap so the public are aware of how to report the issues in their area.

    Actioned 03 May 2025

  • Priority:

We have had an increase of calls regarding off-road motorbikes and quad bikes being used throughout the Mid-Holderness and Southwest Holderness area.

    Issued 03 May 2025

    Action taken:

To continue to work with the community to identify any locations, problem address or persons involved in the use of the off-road bikes.

Work with Op Yellowfin to pass intelligence and to act as a deterrent in identified areas. As well as apprehending any offenders and dealing with them as necessary.

    Actioned 03 May 2025
