Name: Camilla Stork
Rank: Special Constable
When did you join as a Special Constable: I attested in July 2024
Where do you work as a special constable: I am based at Osborne street, Hull
What do you do for a living outside of the special constabulary?
I am currently taking on a role within the Prison service as an officer. I also enjoy spending time with my family and my children.
Why did you join as a Special constable?
I have always had an interest in policing but not full time. Joining as a Special Constable has given me that perfect blend of policing and time with my children. I always enjoyed watching police things on TV, so why watch it when you can go out and do it for real!
What type of duty do you typically get involved with?
I am part of the neighbourhood team, but we do have many opportunities to be on response, which is such an adrenaline rush! The team I usually work with are honestly amazing, and I have made so many new friends.
What are your future aspirations as a member of the Special constabulary?
I am about to take on a new role starting soon as an Acting Sergeant for North Hull station. I never thought something like this would happen, but it goes to show that your effort and dedication does get noticed.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking of joining?
If you are thinking about it, then just hit apply! Since joining I have not only proved to myself that I can do it, I have gained a new found confidence that I never had before, my children also love that mummy is an officer. Being a special is an amazing role and very accommodating.
