The National Employer Supported Policing (ESP) programme increases the diversity of knowledge within a workforce, offers a rewarding scheme to participate in, as well as supporting the ethical, social, and community aims of many organisations.
It works by supporting employees, who volunteer as Special Constables, and their employer through benefit gained from police training and experience, equipping staff with transferable skills that can be used in the workplace.
Employer Supported Policing (ESP) also allows the police to learn about the issues which matter to local businesses and offers benefits in terms of staff development.
The national scheme is already providing success, with almost 500 companies, bringing numerous benefits to employers, employees and the local community.
