Op Coastline has arrived!

As the warmer weather brings more people to our coast, Operation Coastline is returning to help ensure residents businesses and visitors can enjoy the area safely.
Operation Coastline focuses on keeping our coastal towns and resorts welcoming, reducing crime and antisocial behaviour, and providing visible reassurance to local communities during the busier months.
Coastal areas naturally seen increase in visitors at this time of the year which can sometimes lead to an increase in issues such as antisocial behaviour and opportunistic crimes.
Operation Coastline is designed to prevent incidents before they happen and respond quickly where needed, helping people feel safe while enjoying everything the region has to offer.
Throughout the operation people can expect to see officers and partners engaging with communities, supporting local businesses are working with young people to promote positive behaviour.
Superintendent Paul French said, “Our priority is simple. We want people to feel safe and be able to enjoy our coastal communities and resorts.
“Operation Coastline is about being visible, approachable, and working with local partners to prevent issues, dealing with concerns early on.
“By focusing on reassurance and early intervention we can help make a real difference to those who live, work, and visit here.
“This operation builds on previous activity which is already delivered tangible results including tackling road safety issues, addressing anti-social behaviour, and taking action against those causing harm, while holding them to account.
“We look forward to sharing regular updates about our activities and results over the weeks and months ahead.”
We would always encourage people to report any offences to us so we can build the bigger picture and take action. We are committed as a force to targeting criminality across our area.
You can also report information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or on their website, www.crimestoppers.org.uk. To keep up with the latest Op Coastline updates, make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter and follow #OpCoastline.
