Like communities across the force area, our Neighbourhood Policing Teams come from all walks of life. Each and every day they come together with a shared passion - to make a real difference to areas they have often grown up, attended school or lived in, so our communities remain a place we all feel proud to call home.

A familiar and friendly face in the community our Neighbourhoods Policing Teams are the bedrock of policing, the problem solvers and here to keep you and your community safe.

Neighbourhood Policing Assistant Chief Constable Mike Walker said: “This week is the start of Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action and whilst year-round my teams across for force never miss a beat, it really is a fantastic opportunity to highlight not only their dedication but the importance of having officers and PCSOs out and visible in our communities.

“The governments additional funding into neighbourhood policing means we are now able to begin recruiting 38 new Neighbourhood police officers which will further strengthen our crime and ASB prevention efforts, and play a crucial role in the service we are able to provide.

“Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams take on such a diverse role helping members of the community in a variety of circumstances, solving and designing out crime, providing crime prevention advice, working with local schools, businesses and partners on a whole host of educational schemes as well as dealing with anti-social behaviour.  

“The addition of the 38 new officers to teams across our force will contribute to keeping our communities safe whilst driving down and tackling those who think they can commit crime and cause harm.

“As part of the week of action I would encourage members of the public to speak with our officers out and about in your area working alongside partners and local businesses conducting HumberTalking surveys, offering reassurance, answering any questions or concerns you may have about what’s happening in your area.”
