NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE
As summer approaches, officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) are making sure coastal communities remain safe and welcoming for everyone. Whether walking the streets, speaking with residents, or engaging with local businesses, officers involved in Operation Coastline are focused on being visible, approachable, and actively involved in the community.
Neighbourhood Beat Officer Daniel Mosley, featured in the video below, has been patrolling Cleethorpes, speaking to people in the area, and addressing concerns. His role is about more than just responding to crime, it’s about making sure people feel supported, listened to, and reassured when they see officers out and about.
Neighbourhood Beat Officer Daniel Mosley said:
"I’m a part of the community both on duty and off duty, and I’ve been a Neighbourhood Beat Officer for almost a year - first in East Marsh, and most recently having moved to Haverstoe, Humberston & New Waltham. I bring with me my years of experience from police response, investigations departments, and most recently as a part of the neighbourhood policing team.
One of the best parts of this job is getting to know the community. I’ve spoken to many residents who tell me how reassuring it is to see officers on patrol, and that’s why being visible is so important.
Every day is different. One moment, I’m helping a business address concerns about theft, the next, I’m working with young people to tackle antisocial behaviour (ASB).
During the last month, ASB incidents in Humberston & New Waltham have significantly decreased, reflecting the ongoing work to tackle concerns raised by the local community.
Being part of an NPT allows us to build relationships within the community. We’re not just here when something goes wrong - we’re here to support, engage, and listen all year round.
We work closely with businesses and local groups to support them in making Cleethorpes safer. Whether it’s closer collaboration with partner agencies or working with shop owners to prevent crime, those relationships are very important.
The community plays a huge role in everything we do. We always encourage people to come and speak with us, whether it’s during patrols or at local events. If something is worrying you, let us know - we are here to help."
Officers are asking residents to stay engaged by speaking with them during patrols, reporting concerns via 101 for non-emergencies or 999 for emergencies, providing information anonymously via Crimestoppers (0800 555 111), and signing up for My Community Alert for updates on local policing efforts.
This summer, Op Coastline is ensuring Cleethorpes remains a safe and enjoyable place for all. Stay up to date with the latest by following @HumberBeat on Facebook and Twitter, and following #OpCoastline and #TurningTheTideOnCoastalCrime.
