EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE
When officers were called to reports of a concern for safety regarding a man who had collapsed in cardiac arrest on a street in Beverley last Friday (25 July), it wasn’t just their emergency training that kicked in…
Officers from the Beverley patrol team and TAC-MED trained officers from our Special Operations Unit were first on the scene, where they immediately began CPR and used a defibrillator to try and revive the man.
Thanks to their swift response, they were able to restore the man’s pulse before paramedics arrived to take over his medical care.
Among the team was a student officer, currently undergoing tutorship, who played a vital role in the man’s life being saved.
The man is now recovering in hospital, alive and well, thanks to the life-saving teamwork from officers and their compassion, humanity and unwavering duty of care to protect lives.
