NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE
Three people have been arrested after Neighbourhood Policing officers with assistance from the Kinetic Intervention Team and plain-clothed officers conducted a Misuse of Drugs warrant at a property on Victor Street in Grimsby at around 9am yesterday morning (Wednesday 16 July).
Upon searching the address, two men and a woman were located along with multiple mobile phones along with a quantity of what are believed to be class A drugs.
A 41-year-old and 44-year-old man, and 35-year-old woman were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, and all three remain in police custody assisting with ongoing enquiries at this time.
Leading the warrant was Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Peter Musgrave, who said: “This great result is testament to the dedication from all the teams involved who have caused significant disruption to a group who think it’s acceptable to supply drugs in our communities.
“We know that drugs and the crimes associated with them can have a real impact on communities and that is why tackling these kinds of offences remains a priority for us.
“Following enquires so far, we can confirm a quantity of suspected class A drugs worth an estimated £5000 have been seized, along with around £500 in cash.
“I would like to thank the local communities who engage with us and help us take action by contacting us with information about drug dealing and drug related crimes in their area.
“Nobody knows more about what is happening in a community than those that live and work there, and reports from the public help us in our efforts to make the streets safer.
“We would like to reassure residents that whilst they may not see immediate action after reporting to us, the information we do receive helps us build the bigger picture around the offending to ultimately give us a higher chance of securing charges and convictions for those who are intent on causing harm in our communities.”
If you have any concerns about drug dealing in your area, speak to your local officers, call into your nearest station, or call us on our non-emergency number 101.
You can also report information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. If someone is in immediate danger, always call 999.
