NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE
Four people have been arrested thanks to uniformed and plain clothed officers from our sunny Scunny Neighbourhood Policing teams who were quickly called into action whilst they were out and about conducting routine patrols as part of our Safer Streets Summer initiative this week.
A man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and upon conducting a search of his property whilst in custody, a suspected wanted woman was located inside and arrested on suspicion of failing to appear at court.
Colleagues from our response teams then assisted with a further arrested of another woman who was allegedly wanted on suspicion of failing to appear at court.
Following swift action another man has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of class B drugs after he reportedly attempted to evade officers when approached.
Our Safer Streets Summer campaign is all about policing your neighbourhoods and your priorities, and ultimately holding those to account for their crimes based on information and concerns raised by those communities.
Over the last few weeks, we have been bringing you exclusive interviews, features, arrests, charges, convictions, along with a whole host of video content showcasing our Neighbourhood Policing officers who have a wealth of experience and knowledge in beating at the heart of our communities to make them a safe and enjoyable place to live.
This is nothing new for the Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers who make up our local policing teams; this is just an opportunity to shine a light on them following the additional investment into the teams that sit at the very core of policing.
Earlier this year, we announced 38 new police officers joining us as part of the National Neighbourhood Policing Guarantee initiative and uplift, and the intensified action and promotion of all the amazing work they do day in day out forms part of this activity.
Neighbourhood Policing is so much more than community engagement to all our officers, it’s an opportunity to make a difference in tackling crime, anti social behaviour, working with partners to solve community-based problems, as well as gathering information from local residents and businesses alike to help inform the bigger policing picture.
Nobody knows our communities better than our local policing teams, and so we would always encourage you to speak to officers when you see them about any concerns or information you may have.
You can also report online or via our non-emergency number 101, but My Community Alert is also your direct line to your neighbourhood policing team who will keep you in the loop about what is happening on your street.
