FORCEWIDE
Lifestyle is Humberside Police’s longest running youth engagement project, ever since 1989 the initiative has brought young people from across our force area together over the summer months.
Lifestyle gives young people a platform to undertake a massive range of community projects in collaboration with sponsors, youth centres and colleges in aid of making a real difference in their local areas.
The project will be building on the successes of many years before it is encouraging even more young people to get involved. Over the past 37 years more than 195,000 young people have participated in the programme engaging in over 2.5million hours of voluntary activity benefitting their local communities.
Through Lifestyle young people can gain skills through a huge range of projects from running local bake sales to creating new local community gardens.
Lifestyle Coordinator Abby Harrison explained: “Lifestyle gives young people a fantastic opportunity to come together in their own communities and make a real positive change, all whilst gaining valuable teamworking skills over the summer.
“There are a range of fantastic prizes up for grabs for groups who demonstrate exceptional levels of creative and successful projects. These include an amazing trip to Disneyland Paris, as well as cinema visits, paintballing, swimming and roller disco parties, tickets to the Deep and for shows at the Connexin arena.
“Lifestyle creates positive change led by young people across our area and we are all excited to see what this year’s groups get up to, keep an eye on our website and social media channels for regular updates.
“The initiative is open to children aged 10-16 and children can create their own groups with their friends or participate through a local youth club, sports team or other organisation.
“We are encouraging young people in the region to join Lifestyle 2026 and be part of a movement that not only transforms communities but also shapes future leaders.
“If you have children who would like to get involved in Lifestyle 2026 please take a look at our website, applications are now open!”
Lifestyle 2026 is only possible through commercial sponsorships which this year include: Smith & Nephew, Quickline, Joseph and Annie Cattle Trust, Andrew Marr International, Houltons, Pocklington Lions, The Horncastle Family Foundation, Visav, Scribes, Cleveland Cars, JayJay Media and Bridgetown Systems.
