A police constable has been immediately dismissed for breaching the standards of professional behaviour that amounted to gross misconduct.
A misconduct hearing was heard on Tuesday, 14 April at Goole Magistrates Building in relation to PC Alisha Staves conduct that was alleged to have breached the standards of professional behaviour concerning Discreditable Conduct.
In September 2023, Staves took a photograph of herself whilst partially naked wearing a Humberside Police stab vest. The second occasion occurred two months later, in November 2023, when Staves took another photograph of herself exposing her breasts whilst on duty in the Firearms Licensing Department. The images were discovered in 2025 as part of an unrelated matter.
The Misconduct panel found the allegations amounted to gross misconduct and she was dismissed with immediate effect.
Head of Professional Standards, Detective Superintendent Rebecca Dickinson said: “The balance between individuals’ rights to a private life and the expectations placed on police officers is complex and sensitive, but it is also a long‑established feature of policing that behaviour, which undermines integrity or public trust may be addressed through professional standards processes.
“As an organisation we are under a duty to act if we encounter information that may indicate misconduct. The organisation cannot ignore potential breaches of the Standards of Professional Behaviour when they come to light, regardless of the context in which the information is obtained.
“The majority of our officers and staff will always act with the utmost professionalism at all times, however we are committed to ensure those who fail to uphold the high standards we expect, are held to account for their actions.”
