Request:

Please supply the following under the Freedom of Information Act.

For the financial or calendar years 2023 to the present, or most recently available (eg June 2026):

1) The number of e-bikes (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles) seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

2) The number of e-bikes (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles) seized that exceeded the 15.5mph or 250watt limit.

3) The number of offences recorded under the following, and their outcome: 

1. a) section 28 of the Road Traffic Act 1991 – (dangerous cycling)
2. b) section 29 of the Road Traffic Act 1991 – (careless and inconsiderate cycling)
3. c) section 30 of the Road Traffic Act 1991 – (cycling under the influence of drink or drugs)

Response:

Humberside Police can confirm we do hold some of the information you requested.

1) The number of e-bikes (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles) seized under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.

2) The number of e-bikes (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles) seized that exceeded the 15.5mph or 250watt limit.

3) The number of offences recorded under the following, and their outcome:
