We have detective opportunities in the following departments:
Protecting Vulnerable People Unit
The PVPU is the force specialist safeguarding and investigation unit with responsibility for coordinating the multi-agency response to matters of child protection and vulnerable adults. The unit manages investigations into sexual offences, child abuse, serious and complex domestic abuse, honour based abuse and modern day slavery. The Unit has bases at Hull and Brigg.
Investigation Department - Detective opportunities
CID detectives have responsibility for the investigation of crimes in both our North bank and South bank divisions, which do not require the specialist skills within the PVPU or MCT although we work closely together in providing the very best victim focussed service. The function manages all detainees brought into custody from live incidents as well as managing a broad range of criminal investigations. The department has bases at Hull, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Beverley, Bridlington and Goole.
Major Crime Team
The Major Crime Team (MCT) for Humberside police, is a specialist crime investigation function that investigates homicide and associated offences and kidnap and extortion. More recently taking under its umbrella serious and organised crime and covert policing functions. Utilising specialist crime and interview training to equip Humberside with a professional and up to date response to serious and complex crime investigation.
The MCT has bases in Hull and Cleethorpes.
