Man suffers life-threatening injuries in Scunthorpe collision

Officers are appealing for witnesses to a collision this afternoon on the A159, Ashby Road in Scunthorpe.

A 49-year-old man was riding a Motorini 125cc motorcycle along Ashby Road, in the direction towards Ashby from Brumby Corner, when for reasons not yet known the bike has left the carriageway on the stretch of road between Cedar Medical Practice and Whitworth Pharmacy.

The bike mounted the pavement before being in collision with a lamppost, resulting in the man being thrown off the bike.

The man was taken to hospital where his condition is described as life-threatening.
