Scunthorpe: Women bruised after attempt robbery on Ashby High Street

Between 12.20am and 12.30am on Sunday morning (June 21, 2015) it is alleged a man attempted to grab a woman’s handbag off her shoulder as she was getting into a taxi outside the Tesco Express on Ashby High Street in Scunthorpe.


The woman maintained her grip on the handbag, which resulted in her being dragged along the floor for a short time. The 46-year-old victim, sustained cuts and bruises to the arm and knees and was left shaken.

Officers investigating the incident are now searching for a man aged between 16-18-years-old, 5ft 5ins all of a slim build. The offender is believed have worn a black hooded top, with the hood up and possibly a baseball cap underneath. The offender is also thought to have worn lighter coloured tracksuit type bottoms.
