Following a recent appeal officers investigating the case have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.
Police are investigating the robbery of a man on Frederick Ward Way just after midnight on Tuesday April 7.
A 50 year-old Grimsby man had withdrawn cash from the machine outside the post office on Frederick Ward Way. He was mindful of someone behind him, he assumed waiting to use the machine. He walked away from the machine and then is aware of someone grabbing at his wallet from behind.
The man struggled with the offender. Two passers-by came to assist. The offender claimed to be the victim and subsequently grabbed the wallet and ran way. The wallet was later found discarded but the cash had been taken.
The victim received minor injuries to his hand in the incident.
Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and for help in identifying the suspect, described as a white male, around 5ft 6in tall, approximately 20 years-old, of slim build with short dark brown hair. They were reported as wearing a dark coloured jacket with white shoulder patches and hood.
