Over the next two weeks the Community Engagement Team will be travelling around the Humberside police area to visit the six teams that have made it into the Lifestyle Final to see how they have worked to help transform their communities for the better.
All of this will be captured on film ready for the awards night in November, when the overall winners will be announced.
Community Safety Sergeant Liam Clorley said “For us, getting out to see the teams and what they have been up to all summer is a one of the best parts of what we do. Plus it is so exciting for them to be filmed ready for the awards! Those who have made the finals are so enthusiastic about their projects that getting to see them in person really brings home to us what Lifestyle is about: teamwork, community involvement and making a difference! By visiting the projects we are able to see how hard they have worked to bring about change in their local community.”
Lifestyle is open to 10 – 18 year olds from all over Humberside and every year the winning senior team get to travel to South Africa and junior team get to travel to Paris.
Once again this year BP are our principal supporter and have worked with Humberside Police to help make Lifestyle possible and give the young people of Humberside the opportunity to make a real difference through social action.
