We were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision at 2am on Sunday 22 October on the A165 close to the B1253 junction at Bessingby Hill, Bridlington.

A black Vauxhall Astra had left the road and came to a stop in a field.

The driver and passenger were both injured in the collision.  The driver, a 60 year-old man suffered serious and life-threatening injuries in the collision and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a critical condition.  The passenger, a 43 year-old woman, sustained minor injuries.
