Our teams take to Twitter to give live updates

If you've ever wondered what an average shift looks like for our policing teams then wonder no more.

On Saturday morning officers in Goole began to post live updates about their shift in the area - which included everything from talking with shoppers in the town centre to dealing with collisions, anti social behaviour and people in crisis.

Goole: Follow @HP_Goole on Twitter for live updates tomorrow

No two days out on the beat with #TeamHumberside are the same.

And that’s why the Goole neighbourhood teams are inviting you to join them out on the streets – albeit from the comfort of your sofa – by tweeting live updates about their shift tomorrow. (Saturday, September 1)

Key Information

There are plenty of opportunities for you to meet your local officers and talk to them about problems you're worried about. You can pop along to Police Surgeries, which are informal drop-in sessions at well visited places in the community. It's a chance to meet your local officers, tell them about crime and antisocial behaviour in your area and get crime prevention advice.

You can also have a say in what your local police and other agencies focus on in your area at Priority Setting Meetings. Any member of the community can go along and talk to local officers and PCSO's, council workers and people from Fire and Rescue about issues you face. What you say at these meetings will help the policing teams decide how they should focus their resources in your area. If you think we're getting it right or wrong at the moment, come along and have your say.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team meet regularly with partners to ensure we have a multi agency approach to local issues, individuals and problem solving.  These meetings are regularly attended by partners including Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Youth and Family Support, Housing Officers, Enviornmental Health and the East Riding Anti-Social Behaviour Team.  We share information and resources to deal with local neighbourhood issues , in particular, those identified as causing the most harm in the community.

ASB in Market Weighton town centre, Londesborough Road car park, areas of Aspen Close and park

We are to continue our High Visibility patrols of the Market Weighton Town Centre area to deter potential anti-social behaviour (ASB). These patrols include regular checks on the High Street and peripheral areas of Londesborough Road Car Park, Scotts Croft Memorial Park, the town council building area and the area surrounding the Giant Bradley statue (periodic reports of youths causing annoyance.  Anyone caught engaging in such activities will be dealt with jointly with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Market Weighton ASB and vehicle nuisance

This initiative is aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour, particularly those whom cause annoyance with vehicles. Officers will show no discretion and will begin to issue S.59 notices to any vehicles used in a manner to cause alarm, distress or annoyance (Police reform Act 2002). If the behaviour continues the vehicle or any other vehicle being driven by the same driver already issued with a notice will be seized.
