Key Information

There are plenty of opportunities for you to meet your local officers and talk to them about problems you're worried about. You can pop along to Police Surgeries, which are informal drop-in sessions at well visited places in the community. It's a chance to meet your local officers, tell them about crime and antisocial behaviour in your area and get crime prevention advice.

You can also have a say in what your local police and other agencies focus on in your area at Priority Setting Meetings. Any member of the community can go along and talk to local officers and PCSO's, council workers and people from Fire and Rescue about issues you face. What you say at these meetings will help the policing teams decide how they should focus their resources in your area. If you think we're getting it right or wrong at the moment, come along and have your say.

Due to reports from members of the public relating to alcohol consumption and drug use around the bus station and town centre area of Grimsby, local officers in conjunction with the Local Authority have been conducting patrols to identify those involved. Prevention measures are being looked at alongside the enforcement of Public Space Protection Order legislation and legislation open to the Local Authority to reduce the impact that this type of behaviour has. Work is also on going with Foundations to offer support and assistance with those identified to have a substance addiction.

Local officer have been made aware of incidents of Anti Social Behaviour in the Town Centre area of Grimsby. This is normally in the area of Victoria Street and is taking place during the early evening. Groups of youths are congregating and reports have included the pulling up of flowers from flower beds and the riding of motor bikes on the pedestrian area. Officers are regularly patrolling this area and will be present during the late night shopping dates on the run up to Christmas. Engagement is on going with local businesses to identify and address issues that may have an effect on them.
