East Riding teams take to Twitter

If you enjoyed joining our Goole team out on the beat on Saturday, then you're in for a treat tomorrow, when three of our East Riding teams will be posting live updates about their shifts in and around Beverley, Bridlington and Holderness.

Key Information

There are plenty of opportunities for you to meet your local officers and talk to them about problems you're worried about. You can pop along to Police Surgeries, which are informal drop-in sessions at well visited places in the community. It's a chance to meet your local officers, tell them about crime and antisocial behaviour in your area and get crime prevention advice.

You can also have a say in what your local police and other agencies focus on in your area at Priority Setting Meetings. Any member of the community can go along and talk to local officers and PCSO's, council workers and people from Fire and Rescue about issues you face. What you say at these meetings will help the policing teams decide how they should focus their resources in your area. If you think we're getting it right or wrong at the moment, come along and have your say.

The Hallowe’en, Mischief and Bonfire Night period will soon be upon us.  Hallowe’en in particular can be a joyous time for many but can also be a cause of fear for some residents.   If you do not wish ‘trick or treaters’ to knock on your door please display a visible sign in your window.  Please remind children of the need to be respectful and to avoid any house displaying such signs.   It is usual protocol during this time for shops to refuse the sale of eggs and flour to young people to prevent anti-social behaviour.  There will be an increase in patrols around the area this time.

For information on keeping safe around bonfires and fireworks please visit the www.humbersidefire.gov.uk website for useful hints and tips, and remember, never let children play near or with fire or fireworks.

In recent weeks we have had a number of thefts from vehicles in and around the Hornsea area. Please leave property secure and do not leave any items on display whether it be in your home or vehicle.  Always lock bicycles securely. If you notice anything suspicious please contact your local Community Police team on 101.
