We are hosting a tweetathon on our Hull Central account tomorrow

Have you ever wondered what the average day looks like for an officer on patrol?

Tomorrow three of our officers will be taking over the Hull Central Twitter account to tweet live updates whilst out on patrol and responding to incidents.

The day will start will an officer tweeting updates from the early shift before he clocks off and hands over to the next on duty.

*We’re renewing our appeal to find the next of kin of Trevor Pickard. We have followed up a number of lines of enquiry but have so far been unable to find them.

However, Mr Pickard could have relatives in Sherburn in North Yorkshire, and he also used to live at an address near York. Can you help?*

Immingham: Brutal attack left woman with life changing injuries

A Hull man has today been jailed for 25 years after admitting to breaking into the home of a neighbour and repeatedly stabbing her – after she intervened as he brutally attacked his former partner in front of her terrified child.

Grimsby: Two suspects on motorbikes wanted

We want to find two suspects in connection with criminal damage on eleven vehicles in a car park on Dudley Street in Grimsby.

The car park, which is used by charity workers and carers for the elderly, was targeted around midday on 27 July 2018.

The pair were riding an orange motorbike and a grey scooter. Neither bike had number plates.

Beverley: Warning about bogus officials

We’re looking for a man who allegedly posed as a post office worker to con a 76-year-old woman at her home on Lairgate in Beverley.

The incident happened around 9.30am on 25 July 2018. The suspect claimed he was from the post office and the woman needed to pay a postage fee by debit card.

Scunthorpe: Did you see something that will help with our enquiries?

At around 4am on 28 July outside the Light Nightclub on Doncaster Road a 49 year-old man was assaulted.  He suffered serious head injuries in the assault including a fractured skull and jaw.

We want to identify a man, carrying a red satchel bag, who was seen walking away from the scene with three women in the direction of Sainsbury’s.

Hull: Due in court this afternoon

A man has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer and five counts of breaching a curfew in Hull.

Thirty-two-year old Robert Jameson of Far Bell Place in Hull has been charged following an incident which happened on Kyffin Avenue yesterday.

He’s due before Hull Magistrates Court this afternoon 31 July 2018.

A180: Driver died following collision with HGV

We are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a van and a parked HGV on the A180 junction 5 (M180) near to Croxton.

A Mercedes Sprinter van collided with a parked HGV, the collision caused the van to set fire and sadly the driver died at the scene.  The driver of the HGV was not injured in the collision.

Appeal for calm and that police will deal with offenders

This afternoon we have arrested a 25 year old man on suspicion of criminal damage following a disturbance on Convamore Road.

We want to reassure the residents that we are responding to their concerns and will have an increased police presence in the area.

Scunthorpe: Man taken to hospital following assault

We now have more details about an alleged assault in the Dunstall Street area of Scunthorpe, following which a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

It happened around 6am on the morning of 29 July.

Grimsby: Fire started deliberately – can you help us with our enquiries?

On Friday 27 July at around 1.30am a silver Audi A4 drove onto the premises of a pallet company on Estate Road 4 in Grimsby.   A missile was thrown from the vehicle and set fire to £40k worth of pallets which were completely destroyed.
