Westwoodside: Public reassured over incident

Investigations are continuing in relation to a violent disturbance in Westwoodside, Doncaster, yesterday afternoon (July 7).

Officers remain in the area today to reassure the community and enquiries are ongoing.

A 44-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.

Grimsby: Appeal for witnesses following collision where car failed to stop.

Officers investigating a collision between a cyclist and a car are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred at the junction of Winchester Avenue and Laceby Road, in the direction of Bradley crossroads on July 4 at 12.30pm.

A man is due to appear at Scunthorpe Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, July 8) charged with fraud.

Karthik Raviraj, 28, of Masons Avenue, Harrow, was remanded to appear at court this morning.

Cleethorpes - man stole car from elderly woman

A THIEF has been jailed for almost six years following a sneak-in burglary in Cleethorpes.

Joe Frost, 27, of Durham Road, Doncaster, admitted getting into his elderly victim’s home through an insecure door as the 74-year-old woman slept upstairs.

Westwoodside: Police are in attendance investigating a road traffic collision and firearms incident

Humberside Police are in attendance in Westwoodside, Doncaster, following reports at around 3pm today of a road traffic collision and a potential firearms incident. 

Resources have been deployed to the scene, including armed response vehicles and the police helicopter.

Hull: A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police were called at just before 3am today (Tuesday July 7) after a member of the public who disturbed at least one man in their house on Newland Avenue, Hull.

The offender(s) are believed to have entered the property via an open window.

When confronted the offender(s) ran out of the building having stolen a Playstation, a camera and a wallet.

Barton man was already serving 12 years for historic rape offence

A BARTON man serving a 12 year sentence for an historic sexual offences has been jailed for a further eight years, after another victim came forward.

Edward Lowe, 70, formerly of Elswick Gardens, Barton, was first convicted two years ago in relation to a offences dating back to the late seventies.

We have had lots of recent reports of burglaries through open windows & doors

Following the very warm weather last week people can confidently say summer is here; unfortunately this historically results in an increase in homes being burgled as a result of sneak-in burglars entering through open windows and doors. 

Between July and August last year a third of all homes burgled were as a result of properties being left insecure (180 incidents).

Change will affect Grimsby's Victoria Street public enquiry office

Opening hours for the public enquiry office at Grimsby’s Victoria Street Police Station are to be changed to reflect customer demand.

From Monday, July 20, the office will be open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Pocklington: Can you identify suspect from CCTV?

Can you help identify a thief who stole £4,500 from a Pocklington butcher’s shop, who has been captured on CCTV?

The incident happened between 7pm on Saturday, June 20 and 6am on Monday, June 22, at W F Burton High Class Butcher, in Market Place.

The suspect is believed to have used a key – found to be missing from the premises – to get in through a rear door.

Scunthorpe: Officers wish to speak to woman who intervened in altercation

Police are keen to speak to a woman who intervened in a violent dispute between a couple in Scunthorpe’s High Street, at some point in the evening of Saturday July 4.

The couple had been on a night out, when an argument ensued and the man is said to have headbutted his partner.

At this point, an unknown woman intervened but it is claimed the man then spat on her.
