Scunthorpe: All being questioned by officers

Tonight a 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of 51-year-old Raymond Ward in Scunthorpe.

He is the fourth man to be arrested by investigating officers in this enquiry. Three other men aged 47, 37, and 24 are still in custody. 

Officers have also been given a further time extension this evening to question the 37-year-old and the 24-year-old.

Scunthorpe: Did you see anything?

We’re investigating following an incident near a Scunthorpe school this morning, when men in a white van grabbed a girl’s bag.

The incident happened in Merlin Road, Scunthorpe, close to the Bridges Road end of the street, at around 8am today.

Cleethorpes: Help us find Linton

We want to find 15-year-old Linton Doherty from Cleethorpes who has been missing since 6 July 2018.

We have received reports that Linton has been seen in and around the town since, but we’re concerned for his safety and want him to let us know he’s safe. 

He said he was going camping with friends.

Hornsea: Can you help us find the family of Trevor Pickard?

We are looking for the next of kin of 64-year-old Trevor Pickard who was sadly found dead in his home in Hornsea.

Trevor was found at the property on New Road by his neighbours on 28 June 2018. Despite our efforts to trace his family we have so far been unsuccessful.

We are not treating his death as suspicious.

As a police force we have already stated that while we share the concerns of online vigilante groups and individuals who want to expose potential child sex offenders - or so-called ‘paedophile hunters’ - we need to make it clear again that their actions can be extremely problematic and can create more problems than they solve.

Scunthorpe: Another arrest made

A 47-year-old man has been arrested this evening in connection with the murder of 51-year-old Raymond Adam Ward whose body was found in a building on Cliff Gardens in Scunthorpe.

Investigating officers have been given more time to question two other men, aged 37 and 24, who were arrested earlier in connection with Mr Ward’s death.

New officers fresh out of training head out to make your communities safer and stronger

The latest group of 60 new police officers leave training school and took part in a passing-out parade at the force's training ground in Courtland Road in Hull today.

These new officers will be patrolling the streets of Hull, North and North East Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Scunthorpe: 51 year-old man found dead in disused building

Following the discovery of the body of a man in a disused building in Scunthorpe yesterday, we have launched a murder enquiry.

The man, now formally identified as 51 year-old Raymond Adam Ward, was found in the building on Cliff Gardens in Scunthorpe.  Raymond was of no fixed abode, his family have been informed.

Scunthorpe: Witness appeal

A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon following reports he was acting in a threatening manner as he walked around Scunthorpe.

We’re asking for witnesses to come forward who may have seen the man on 9 July 18 as he walked along Digby Street, Spencer Avenue, Theodore Road, and then Henderson Avenue around 4.30pm.
