Statement from Det Chf Supt Judi Heaton

Det Chf Supt Judi Heaton: “We are today continuing our investigation into the murder of Shane Gilmer and attempted murder of Shane’s partner Laura Sugden, who is pregnant.

“Laura’s injuries were not life threatening and she and the baby are stable.

“The incident happened in their home in Southburn, Driffield, on Friday evening and we are still actively searching for a suspect.

Hull: CCTV image now available

Two men are being sought in connection with a car theft on 7 January 2018 in Hull. 

A takeaway driver was making a food delivery in a silver Toyota Yaris on Hardy Street around 8.45pm and left his car running.

Cleethorpes: Information and witness appeal

We would like anyone with any information to contact us in connection with a suspected incident of arson in Cleethorpes.

The incident occurred at a property on Park Street around 7.30pm on 8 January 2018. A plastic drainpipe at the side of the building was set alight which melted and set fire to a lawnmower cover and garden furniture.

Grimsby: Cadets help teams tidy up Patrick Street underpass.

A group of Humberside Police Cadets will be giving up their free time this Saturday 13 January to help spruce up the underpass on Patrick Street in Grimsby.

The make-over follows three days of work carried out as part of a joint initiative between Humberside Police and partner agencies to help make the area safer.

Hull: We’re looking for information

A 64-year-old woman on a mobility scooter was assaulted by a group of youths in Hull on 6 January 2018.

The incident happened on Endyke Lane around 6.30pm. The group surrounded the woman and allegedly tried to drag her from her scooter while kicking and hitting her.

The victim sustained bruising to her cheeks and legs. She was also verbally abused.

Making it easier for you to speak to us

From Monday we’re changing the opening hours of some of our community stations’ front counters to make it easier for you to come and speak to us.

The changes follow a public consultation, during which we looked at when the facilities were used most and when you told us you would prefer to be able to visit your local station.

East Riding and North Lincolnshire: Hare coursing remains a major problem

The winter months may seem quieter out in the fields of the East Riding and rural North Lincolnshire but this causes specific problems for us and our farming and rural community as criminals travel to the flat countryside surround the counties to conduct illegal hare coursing. The practice is illegal under the Hunting Act 2004.

Hedon: Can you help us identify this man?

An 89-year-old woman has allegedly had her purse stolen while out shopping in Hedon on 21 December 2017. 

The incident occurred in Heron Foods on St Augustine’s Gate around 2pm. When the woman got to the till she found her purse was missing leaving her unable to pay.

North Lincolnshire: Following a police operation on Tuesday 9 Jan 18, four people arrested have been released under investigation.

Acting on specific information gathered over recent months key individuals were identified in connection with criminality. Warrants were served at seven properties on River View, Mill Lane in Brigg and one warrant was served at a storage unit on Santon Business Park on Tuesday 9 January.

Hull: CCTV images released of five suspects

A man sustained a broken jaw and fractured skull after allegedly being assaulted on George Street in Hull on 2 December 2017.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment after he was knocked unconscious during the altercation.

“We would like to clarify that although we are reviewing the circumstances surrounding how Laura Plummer came to have the Tramadol, we are not carrying out a criminal investigation into any named suspect on the basis of the information we currently have.

We can confirm that missing teenagers Kaitlyn Davies, 15, and Sophie Malone, 13, from Hull have been found safe and well by officers.

We would like to thank you for your help with our appeal to find them.
