We are recruiting cadets across the force area

Are you aged 15-17 and interested in learning more about the police? Do you like to meet new people? If so then you may be interested in becoming a Humberside Police Cadet.

As a cadet you will be asked to attend a two hour long lesson each week as well as committing to three hours volunteering per week.

Hedon: Appeal for witnesses and information

We have arrested two men in connection with reports that a man was seen allegedly trying to grab hold of a young girl in Hedon around 4.45pm yesterday 10 May. 

Increased police patrols have been in the area while our investigation into this isolated incident continues.

The girl was unhurt.

We are still appealing for information. Please quote reference 16/51689/18.

At 4.30am on 7 May a 28 year-old man was assaulted during an attempted robbery on Field Street, off Holderness Road  in Hull.

We have a description of a man we want to trace in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Barton-upon-Humber.

The incident happened on Far Ings Road near Waterside Road on 26 March 2018 around 4pm.

Grimsby: Three children arrested

We’re appealing for witnesses following a fire at a business premises in Grimsby. 

It started on Castle Street around 5.30pm on 30 April 2018. It’s suspected the blaze might have been started deliberately. 

Three children have been arrested in connection with the incident. They’ve all been released under investigation. 

No-one was hurt in the fire.

Fraudsters claim to be police officers

A warning has been issued to elderly residents to be on their guard following a number of recent reports of a telephone scam where fraudsters call claiming to be police officers.

The scammer says that they have information about fraudulent activity on the victim’s account and encourage the victim to withdraw their money.

Scunthorpe: Sneak-in burglary

An amount of gold rings, watches, necklaces, earrings and money have been stolen during a burglary at a house on Cliff Gardens in Scunthorpe.

A wedding ring and a valuable watch (which can be seen in the attached photo) were stolen along with the high value items during the burglary, which happened sometime over the bank holiday weekend between 5 and 7 May.

Hull: Did you see what happened?

Did you see an assault on Beverley Road, Hull shortly after 12 noon on Wednesday 2 May? 

A man was riding his bike, close to the junction with Suffolk Street, when he was overtaken by two men on a motorbike. It was reported that as the motorbike was passing one of the men deliberately knocked the cyclist off his bike, causing him to suffer minor injuries.

Bridlington: Liquid sprayed in victim’s face

A woman has allegedly been assaulted during a burglary at her house in Bridlington.

Two males entered the property on Bright Crescent around 4am on 6 May 2018. They sprayed a liquid in the woman’s face before stealing money, a bank card and cigarettes.

The liquid which smelt of petrol caused minor irritation to the victim’s skin.
