Grimsby: 22-year old arrested

We have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting two police officers and possessing an offensive weapon in Grimsby.

The assaults allegedly took place after officers went to attend a report that a man was seen holding a bladed weapon in Fairmont Road yesterday afternoon 9 Sept.

The man is currently in custody. The officers have received support.

Grimsby: Car followed in the early hours

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving while disqualified after officers followed a car into Grimsby last night.

It happened just after midnight when a vehicle was spotted driving erratically.

Forcewide: Please read our statement

This morning the Howard League for Penal Reform has released details of the number of children arrested nationally and in the force area, and have given praise for the work we do.

Arrests of children by Humberside Police have been reduced by 76 per cent in the last seven years. We made 1,385 arrests of children aged 17 and under last year, down from 5,751 in 2010.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with affray, criminal damage and witness intimidation following an incident on Saturday, 8 September in Cleethorpes.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was on the roof of a property on Harrington Street yesterday morning. Objects were reportedly thrown from the roof, damaging vehicles on the road.

Grimsby: Thanks for your patience

The earlier incident in Grimsby's Cromwell Road has been brought to a safe conclusion and we are now reopening the road.

The 35-year-old man is now in the care of medical professionals and we would like to thank you for your patience while we were dealing with the incident.

Grimsby: Cromwell Road closed for safety of public

Specialist officers are in the Cromwell Road area of Grimsby, following reports of concerns for the safety of a man.

We were called at 3.50pm with reports of concerns for the 35-year-old man, who is in a black Vauxhall Astra parked close to our Cromwell Road station.

Colleagues from Humberside Fire and Rescue and paramedics are also in attendance.

Our detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are still on the scene in Market Weighton, following what is believed to be theft of money from a cash machine.

We were called at 4.10am today, following reports of a “large bang” at a store in Market Place.

Scunthorpe: Warning to drivers parking illegally near schools

Our teams will once again be working closely with schools to take action against people who risk the lives of children by parking illegally.

Parking restrictions are in place outside our schools for good reason, allowing children coming to and leaving school to cross the road more safely. It’s not something trivial that can be ignored to save a couple of minutes’ walk.

Bridlington: He has appeared in court

Thirty-nine-year-old Aaron Wilson from Albion Terrace has been charged with two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest, possessing a weapon in a public place, assault by beating, and criminal damage. 

It follows an incident on Quay Street in Bridlington on the 5 September 2018. 

He has already appeared in court.
