Grimsby: Independent witnesses sought

Independent witnesses are being sought after a man reported having his wallet stolen as he waited for a bus close to Nuns Corner, Grimsby.

The incident is said to have happened yesterday (Monday, June 13) at shortly before 3pm at the bus stop opposite the Grimsby Institute.

The victim and the suspect, who are known to each other, had visited a number of bookmakers together before going to catch a bus.

It is claimed the offender then reached over and stole the 53-year-old victim’s wallet from his pocket, before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as white, of stocky build and bald, with a dent in his head. He wore a green jacket.

A 42-year-old Grimsby man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and bailed to a date this month, pending further enquiries.
