Two arrested in connection with criminal damage of newly planted trees in St James Square, Grimsby

We are investigating the criminal damage to a number of trees in St James Square which was reported to us on Wednesday 30 June 2021.
Following initial investigations and viewing of CCTV for the area two people have now been arrested and are in custody.
Chief inspector Paul French said, “I am deeply saddened to see this wonton destruction.
“We understand the impact antisocial behaviour has on our local communities and we are committed to working proactively and collectively with local partners, businesses and communities to take action to tackle these issues and hold those responsible to account.”
