Three men arrested following robberies in Withernsea

East Riding

Three men are currently in our custody following reported robberies at two stores on Queen Street in Withernsea yesterday evening, Thursday 19 March.

We were called shortly after 9:30pm with reports that three men had entered a shop and tried to steal money. When challenged by a member of staff, one of the men allegedly verbally threatened the staff member and left with the stores till.

Three youths who were nearby and had seen the men run off gave chase causing the till to be dropped.

The three men then entered a second store and when the till was open left with around £300 in cash.

Officers quickly attended and three men, aged 36, 44 and 63, were arrested nearby, all remain in our custody whilst enquiries continue.

We would like to thank the three youths that gave chase, ensuring the till and its contents were returned to the store.
