47 year-old Jonathon Horne of Moorside Gardens in Halifax was sentenced at Hull Crown Court on Friday 10 May to 18 years in jail after he was found guilty of 10 incidents of sexual offenses with two vulnerable victims. The offenses included rape, sexual assault of a child and indecent assault between 1994 and 1999 for one victim and 2010 for the second.
Humberside Police Detective Constable Kim Blackburn investigated the case and said, “Jonathon Horne is responsible for systematic abuse of two generations of the same family, he convinced both victims to love and trust him, he then breached this trust in the most despicable way.
“The sentence he has been handed reflects the seriousness of the offences and the lasting effect his actions have had on his victims.
“I would like to commend the courage and tenacity of the victims in this case, it is not an easy decision to speak out about someone within your own family. These victims have not only suffered the abuse but also the trauma of their extended family being torn apart by these allegations, hopefully this verdict the subsequent conviction will assist in these brave women to move on with their lives.”
“If anyone believes that they have been sexually exploited or if they know anyone that has you can call us in complete confidence. We will listen and we will act.
