New Grimsby custody facility: public drop-in

3pm to 7pm, 29 June West Marsh Community Centre

27 Jun 2017

We will be holding a drop in session on Thursday 29 June, between 3pm and 7pm at the West Marsh Community Centre where residents will be able to find out more about plans for a new custody suite in Grimsby. Local residents will be offered the chance to see plans of the proposed development and ask questions. There will also be a chance to meet with local policing teams.

The new custody suite will replace current custody facilities at Scunthorpe and Grimsby Police Stations which are outdated. Grimsby and Scunthorpe Police Stations will continue to operate, with only the custody suite facilities being relocated to the proposed new facility.

Finding a location close to the A180 has been high on the search criteria, as the new site needs to have easy access to both Grimsby and Scunthorpe. The Force has been working closely with North East Lincolnshire Council, who has assisted in finding a suitable location and providing support.

Earlier in the day, developer Willmott Dixon is hosting a 'Meet the Buyer' event so that local businesses can find out more about the development and the associated business opportunities it offers.

(If any media are interested in attending, please can you notify the press office in advance. Thank you)
