Money seized and teenagers arrested after car stolen following burglary
We have arrested four teenagers from Scunthorpe on suspicion of stealing a motor vehicle following a burglary in the town yesterday Thursday 5 September.
It was reported that a set of cars keys was stolen from a property on Frodingham Road, which were subsequently used to take a car from nearby Dale Street.
The vehicle was traced by officers to a golf course in Messingham. Four teenagers were found in a nearby chalet along with the car keys, approximately £3,000 in cash and an amount of class B drugs.
The teenagers are still in our custody. Further enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector John Cram from Scunthorpe CID said: “This kind of crime can be very distressing and inconvenient for the victim as not only do they have to deal with a burglary, but the theft of a car as well.
“We always want anyone who has any information about crimes in their area to call us on 101 or if you want to remain anonymous call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
