Man charged in connection with counterfeit £20 note scam

6 Dec 2018

A man has been charged in connection with recent reports of a scam where real money is exchanged for a counterfeit note.

35-year-old Lee Ingham of Scott Avenue, Scunthorpe has been charged with two counterfeit currency offences. He has been bailed to appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court in March.

We received reports last week of a man knocking on doors or stopping people in the street asking to change a £20 note before handing over a counterfeit note and taking real money from the victim.
