Hornsea: Robbery and assault – Appeal for witnesses

3 Jul 2015

Shortly after midnight on Sunday June 28, a 58 year-old Hornsea man was walking along Cliff Road when he was struck on the head from behind causing him to fall, unconscious, to the ground.

While on the ground he was robbed of his wallet containing cash and bank cards.

The victim was able to raise the alarm at a nearby house and was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with a serious head injury.

Detective Constable Simon Marshall states, “This was a particularly nasty unprovoked attack on this victim, who was simply making his way home after a night out.  Thankfully the victim is now recovering from his injuries.

“I would appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident contact us on the non-emergency number 101 quoting Ref 2122278.”
