HULL
A 45-year-old man is currently in our custody after being detained by police dog Arnie yesterday (Thursday 6 September) in Hull.
We were called to Pets At Home on Rix Road in Hull following reports that a man had entered the shop and stolen approximately £50 worth of dog food.
A member of staff confronted the man and he is reported to have fled the scene in car.
Officers were deployed to the area alongside PD Arnie and located the car the vicinity of Greenwood Avenue.
The man is reported to have abandoned the car on Oldstead Avenue and following a short paw chase he was detained by PD Arnie.
He was arrested on suspicion of theft and driving without a license or insurance. He remains in custody whilst enquiries continue.
