NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE
Two men have been arrested after officers from our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Team partnered with the Crosby and Park Neighbourhood Policing Team yesterday (Wednesday 20 March) as part of their ongoing work to tackle exploitation.
Officers attended an address on Earl Street in Scunthorpe following reports of sexual exploitation and arrested two men at the scene.
A 24-year-old man and 22-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of holding a person in slavery.
The 24-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of concealing criminal property.
Both have been released on bail with conditions whilst our enquiries continue.
Anyone who has information which may assist with our investigation can contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 24*38038.
Detective Sergeant Richard Kirk from the team said: “We take all reports of exploitation seriously and we will always act on the information we receive, especially when we feel a person may be vulnerable or at risk of exploitation.
“We would urge anyone who may have concerns about someone being exploited, or a victim of modern slavery to please contact us on 101, or 999 in an emergency. You can also call the Modern Slavery Helpline on 0800 0121 7000.”
