FORCEWIDE
Op Coastline officers have carried out 11 warrants and arrested 146 people for a number of different of offences, including 55 linked to burglary suspects, in their second week of intensified action.
Not only this but officers from our organised crime teams, Op Yellowfin, and tactical plain-clothed units have also gained some impressive results, including:
We’re now in the height of the summer holidays and our coastal and market towns have already started to see an influx of tourists to the area.
Local residents and those visiting our force area can expect to see officers from a variety of teams out and about conducting high visibility patrols, with a continued focus on engaging with those in the area and promoting conversations with our communities.
Whilst this is daily business for all our teams, it is an opportunity for us to showcase the work being done 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, as well as providing a behind-the-scenes insight into what it’s really like policing over 1357 square miles of coast, country, and cityscape during the summer – one of our busiest times of year.
Teams from local Neighbourhood Policing Units, Rural Task Force, Op Yellowfin, Patrol Officers, Community Safety Unit, Special Constables, Cadets, and volunteers are amongst the faces you will become familiar with, and they will also be working with partners such as the RNLI, Highways, British Transport Police and many more to keep our communities safe from crime.
Our communities act as our extra eyes and ears, which helps us keep those attending our area safe from criminality, and we would always encourage you to report any offences to us so we can build the bigger picture and take action.
You can do this by speaking directly to our officers on the ground, via our non-emergency number 101 or, to remain anonymous, the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
