Assistant Chief Constable Thom McLoughlin said: “We were aware of speculation on social media suggesting there would be a protest in Hull yesterday evening (Wednesday 7 August).
“We did not receive any information to substantiate this report of a protest taking place and can confirm that there was no disorder in Hull yesterday.
“Regardless, we do continue to be well resourced and have specialist officers on patrol and available to provide both reassurance and to deal with any emerging issues robustly.
“Thirty-five people have now been arrested; some of whom have already appeared before the courts facing charges.
“We will not stop until every person responsible for the despicable behaviour we have seen over the weekend, is in custody.
“I’d like to say another huge thank you to those who have both assisted officers on the ground, as well as provided information via 101 or our Major Incident Portal, to assist with our ongoing lines of enquiries.
“I would continue to urge anyone with any further information in relation to offenders or offences, to please get in touch on 101 or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
“You can also provide information directly to the investigation team, which will be dealt with in the strictest confidence, through the Major Incident Public Portal: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/16HQ23M43-PO1”
