17 Jan 2018

We are continuing our investigation into the death of a 45 year-old Grimsby man who we can confirm was Tony Richardson.

Tony died in hospital following an assault on Monday evening outside the Halifax Bank in Old Market Place in Grimsby.

Detective Chief Inspector Stewart Miller said, "We are investigating a number of new lines of enquiry and want to thank the public for the response by them in coming forward with information."

We are still appealing for anyone with information that would help us identify a man we want to speak to in connection with the assault.  He is described as a white man, aged 20-45 years, with dark rimmed glasses. He wore a beige or grey waist length jacket with a peaked hood, which was up.  He was also wearing dark trousers and grey or brown trainers.

Anyone who saw the incident or was in the Old Market Place area between 3.30pm and 5pm on Tuesday evening and can help with our enquiries is asked to contact us on the dedicated incident room number 01472 290204 or, alternatively, call 101 quoting log 372 15/01/18.
