Four racially abused

We’re appealing for your help in tracing a man who is said to have racially abused and threatened four men in Cottingham Road, Hull.

The incident happened close to the university at around 5.30pm on Thursday, March 9, when four men of Asian appearance were targeted by another man.

The suspect is described as black, around 5ft 6in tall, between 25 and 30-years-old, of slim build, with short black hair. He wore a blue suit and sunglasses.

He is said to have walked along Cottingham Road but turned off on a side street before Newland Avenue.

Community Safety Manager Adil Khan said: “The physical and verbal abuse suffered by victims of hate crime will not be tolerated in Humberside and we urge anyone who has experienced it to report it.

“Victims will be taken seriously and they will be believed. This is not something they just have to put up with.

“We also actively encourage anyone who witnesses such abuse taking place not just to ignore it, but to get in touch.”
