Elderly man targeted by thieves

Cleethorpes: Can you help trace suspect?

6 Aug 2015

An elderly Cleethorpes man was conned out of £220 and had further cash and bank books stolen in a suspected distraction burglary.

The incident happened in Dugard Road, Cleethorpes, at around noon on Wednesday, August 5.

A man driving a white Transit-style van and wearing blue and white overalls came to the door and offered to clear out the guttering.

The suspect then entered the house and asked the 86-year-old victim for a drink, which he took outside.

The suspect is then said to have left with the cash without doing any work. It was later discovered the elderly man’s bank books were also missing.

The suspect is described as tanned, small and of slim build. He was aged 25 to 30 years old and had facial stubble.

The van was plain white, had ladders on the roof and a woman, possibly wearing a pink top, sitting in the passenger seat.
