Cyclist Found Injured on B1230

Walkington: Appeal for information as cyclist is found injured on a country road

Police are trying to establish the circumstances of how a cyclist came by his injuries when he was found laid in the road on the B1230 near Walkington.

The 64-year-old Manchester man was on a cycling holiday in the East Riding and was heading towards Beverley just before 11pm on Tuesday May 19.  He was found unconscious with serious injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Officers investigating the incident are asking for anyone who may have seen the cyclist around this time of night travelling along the B1230 from High Hunsley towards Walkington.  He was riding a cycle with panniers.

Anyone with information that would help investigators establish the circumstances is asked to call the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 502 of May 19 2015.
