21 Apr 2015

POLICE are appealing to anyone who may be able to help with their enquiries into a burglary which happened on April 20 between 10.45am and 12 noon on Mereside.  The homeowners were working in the garden at the time and an intruder entered the home unnoticed through an unlocked door.

The intruder took a large amount of cash and a stamp album described as being an A4 sized tan-coloured leather album containing historic English stamps.

Did you see anything?  Can you help officers to find those responsible? Have you been offered this stamp album?

Handling stolen goods is a crime. Knowingly buying stolen goods is an offence that can carry a longer prison sentence than from actually stealing them.  If you know anyone who is selling or buying stolen goods, report it to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting Crime Reference 2109126 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Keep you and your property safe - Please remember to lock your doors, even when you are in the house or garden.  Get more crime prevention advice: Burglary crime prevention tips
