Following the incidents patrols are regularly taking place across villages in the Isle of Axholme area and enquiries are being progressed to identify people involved in the offending.
Homeowners are being urged to assist the force by reporting anything suspicious in their area to the police on 101 or 999 if the burglary is in pro and by keeping homes secure.
Home security advice include:
- Always keep doors locked and lock windows in unoccupied rooms.
- Don’t leave valuables on display and this includes car keys that can be used to take your vehicle.
- Use timers to turn on lights and radios. If your house looks like you are at home it becomes less of a target.
- Consider getting a house alarm fitted as it deters offenders.
If you can describe your property, you stand a better chance of getting the thief who is using it prosecuted, visit www.immobilise.com for more details.
